A leading global packaging plant wanted to ensure the safety of its workforce in and around new machinery, with the ability to provide the means for staff to be safely directed through the works whilst mitigating any potential vehicle strike hazards by forklift trucks operating in volume throughout the plant.

Emtek were tasked with providing a highly visible and strong workplace safety railing that would be easy to maintain. Following a set of consultation and site meetings with the production and safety managers, we provided our iFlex Traffic Plus Barriers and Swing Gates, capable of taking heavy vehicle and fork lift truck impacts, whilst safely taking staff through the plant. Manufactured from A-Safe’s unique iFlex polymer material, it allows the railings to absorb energy upon impact from a workplace vehicle strike, then reform to the original state. This solution helps reduce long term product maintenance for the client and with its bright yellow colour, the gates and railings give clear demarcation of pedestrian walkways to staff.
